Skip’s Chicken will shutter its brick-and-mortar restaurant on Durham Road in Wrightstown Township on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The eatery first opened its doors in August 2024 at its Wrightstown Township location.

In a note to customers, owners Dan and Jeremy Cruz pointed to economic pressures as the main factor behind the closure.
“When we opened Wrightstown, our goals were to bring the Skip’s Chicken experience to our home community and to learn what it would take to develop a model that could help the Skip’s brand grow,” the owners said in the statement posted last week to social media. “We are proud of what we accomplished and, even more importantly, grateful for the customers, employees and community relationships that came from it.”
The Wrightstown Township location is no longer financially viable, according to the brothers.

“For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to close Wrightstown rather than compromise the quality and experience people expect from Skip’s,” they said.
The owners expressed gratitude to customers and those who traveled to order gluten-free menu items.

Skip’s Chicken will continue operations through its local food trailer, which will serve events and area stops while offering gluten-free items.
The business recently launched an eatery in Strasburg in Lancaster County.
“This isn’t goodbye to Skip’s. It’s simply the end of this chapter in Wrightstown,” the brothers said. “We hope you’ll visit us before our final day and continue following Skip’s Chicken for food trailer locations, Strasburg updates, and what comes next.”

The business stated that customers with unredeemed gift cards can use them at the Wrightstown Township location through Sunday, Aug. 30. Customers unable to visit prior to that date can email dan@skipswrightstown.com to request a direct buyback for any remaining balance.
