While driving in the parking lot of the Newtown Shopping Center on West Road around 11:20 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle with heavy damage to the passenger side front wheel, side panel, and rear wheel of the vehicle.  The vehicle’s front wheel was resting on the rim with no rubber left on the tire.  It was determined that no other vehicle in the lot may have been involved in an event with this vehicle was one in the parking lot with damage.  As an officer approached the vehicle on foot and attempted to identify himself, the vehicle began to pull away.  The officer banged on the window of the car and was able to get the driver’s attention and have her stop the vehicle.  The driver was identified as 20-year-old Jessica Faith Reichart of Nutmeg Place in Levittown.  When the officer made contact with Reichart she appeared incoherent and dazed.  After a brief investigation the officer formed the opinion that Reichart had consumed alcohol beverages in an amount that rendered her incapable of safely operating her vehicle.  She was taken into custody and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where she consented to have blood drawn to be submitted to the crime lab for analysis.  Reichart was released to family members and charges of DUI are pending the results of the lab work.

Tint Citation

At approximately 9:43 p.m. an officer was monitoring traffic at the intersection of Durham Road and Second Street Pike in Wrightstown Township when he observed a vehicle with heavy tint on the front windows.  The officer followed the motorist to south on Durham Road and when it turned onto Stoopville Road the officer performed a traffic stop near Hemlock Drive in Newtown.   After the vehicle stopped the officer shined his spot light on the rear windshield, but the window tint was so dark that he was unable to see inside of the vehicle.  The driver was identified as 24-year-old Johnny Kam Fai Chan from Perry Hall, Maryland.  Chan received a citation charging him with the window tint violation.

An officer stopped a motorist on the Newtown Bypass near the PennDOT yard just after 10:30 p.m.  due to a window tint violation.  The driver was identified as 28-year-old Ronald Gadonniex of Cedar Drive in Bensalem.  The officer determined that Gadonniex was driving while his license was under suspension, and the vehicle was registered to Gadonniex’s mother, 49-year-old Melinda Provenzano of Avenue C in Horsham.   Gadonniex gave the officer his permission to search of the vehicle and the officer located drug paraphernalia.  Gadonniex was asked to notify someone to respond to drive the vehicle home, which he did.  The paraphernalia was seized as evidence and Gadonniex will be cited by mail for the tint violation, driving under suspension, and disorderly conduct.  Provenzano will be cited by mail for permitting her son to drive a vehicle while his license is suspended.
