Learn To Help Low-Income Families With Their Taxes


 

bcoc Bucks County Opportunity CouncilThe Bucks County Opportunity Council, which manages the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is seeking volunteers to assist low-income families with completing their taxes for free.

The volunteers, according to a recent press release, will interview families, complete tax returns using IRS software, and complete exist interviews. Seasoned tax volunteers with years of experience review every return before it’s submitted.

Anyone is interested, is asked to volunteer for the program. Free training is provided and the required certification is completed online. Information sessions are informal, with a brief overview and opportunity to ask questions of VITA volunteers and site coordinators.
