Road closures are planned for Saturday as the 2017 Newtown Shamrock Shuffle 5K makes its way through the area.
Police said Sycamore Street from Washington Avenue to Durham Road in Newtown Township will be closed between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Starting at 8:45 a.m. in Newtown Borough, North State Street, Edgeboro Drive, Frost Lane, Jefferson Street, Greene Street, Liberty Street, North Congress Street and North Chancellor Street will be blocked due to the race.
The annual Shamrock Shuffle doesn’t just include the race. Those who are registered receive an all-access wrist band that provides one free drink, a food voucher and entry to the all-day party.
The 5K is part of the Green Parrot’s Newtown Irish Festival Weekend.
