An early morning break-in at Voltage Bike on Monday has Upper Makefield Township police seeking public assistance in their ongoing investigation.

At approximately 4:47 a.m., officers responded to an alarm activation at the Washington Crossing-based store. Upon arrival, officers found the front door pried open and a new electric bike abandoned in the lot, police said.

After securing the scene, officers determined that only one bike had been taken from the premises, police said.

Surveillance footage from the store revealed a suspect with a concealed face, wearing a backpack, jacket, hat, and headlamp. This individual was seen breaking into the store and making away with the bike, police said.

As the investigation progressed, officers identified a white Volvo XC60 in connection to the suspect. However, the vehicle itself was discovered to have been stolen from Wynnewood, Montgomery County, police said.

The Volvo was later found abandoned in Philadelphia, but the stolen bicycle was nowhere in sight, police said.

The Upper Makefield Township Police Department urges anyone with information related to the burglary to reach out to Detective Ryan Moore at 215-968-3020.
