September 29
Fraud
A Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters around 12:30 p.m. to report a fraud involving unauthorized charges on his credit card. The bank is investigating the matter.
October 1
Assault
Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence at 5:35 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody without incident and charged with simple assault.
October 3
Theft
At approximately 4:15 p.m., police received the report of altered checks that resulted from the theft that occurred on September 26, from the USPS office located at 20 Terry Drive. The two blue boxes located in the parking lot were pried open during the overnight hours, and an unknown amount of mail was stolen from inside. In the past, police have investigated thefts of personal checks from these boxes which were eventually altered and cashed for significantly greater amounts. Police suggest that if you utilized these boxes after business hours on September 25, monitor your accounts closely and cancel any personal checks that have been mailed.
October 4
Assault
At approximately 1 p.m., police received the report of an assault between coworkers that occurred at a business located in Newtown Township. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Identity Theft
A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 1:00 pm to report a fraud involving identity theft and unauthorized bank accounts being created with her personal information. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
