Newtown Borough police kept busy in August and September, according to recent updates from the chief.
Chief of Police James Sabath said the department handled 200 calls in August.
The department responded to seven traffic crashes, including one with injuries at Lincoln and Washington street. There was also a chain-reaction crash on Washington Avenue.
A 43-year-old man on Lincoln Avenue was revived with Narcan after an overdose, Sabath said.
A 17-year-old Maryland man was arrested for drugs following a traffic stop in the borough, according to the chief.
A 20-year-old Newtown man was charged after it was determined he used a Penn Street resident’s credit card without authorization in the area, Sabath said.
The department received several reports of retail thefts in the borough.
A 39-year-old Doylestown man and a 51-year-old Newtown man were in a road-rage incident on the Newtown Bypass and chase one another through the borough, leading to both being charged, Sabath said.
In September, the borough police department responded to 124 calls for service.
The month brought 40 traffic stops, including a number for running stop signs and traffic lights, Sabath said.
There were four crashes, but no serious injuries.
A Newtown Borough woman was scammed by someone telling her they were selling her Philadelphia Eagles tickets.
Officers were also investigating a fraud case where a person’s credit card was used to buy currency for a gambling website.
