Troopers Investigate Theft At Tyler State Park

Troopers say a suspect made off with cards and cash.

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a theft that occurred in broad daylight at Tyler State Park in Newtown Township.

According to the state police, an unidentified suspect broke into a black 2020 Acura MDX that was parked between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on March 1.

The suspect made off with a wallet containing three credit cards, one debit card, and $115 in cash, troopers reported.

The suspect used the stolen cards for unauthorized transactions at Staples and Home Depot, state police said.

The total amount of fraudulent purchases was not disclosed.

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rangers patrol the park and troopers handle investigations on state property.

The investigation remained active as of this week.
