Pennsylvania State Police will be looking out for intoxicated drivers in Lower Bucks County on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location in the area Saturday from 11 p.m. to Sunday at 4 a.m.
Troopers from the Trevose barracks will man the sobriety checkpoint.
At the checkpoint, law enforcement will stop vehicles briefly to observe drivers for behaviors normally associated with drug or alcohol impairment, a statement said.
“The goal of a sobriety checkpoint is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related fatal and serious crashes, and to reduce the number of DUI drivers on Pennsylvania’s highway,” troopers said in a statement.
The location of state police checkpoints are almost never released to media or area residents ahead of time.
