March 17
Assault
At approximately 6:56 a.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Harassment.
March 20
Truck Enforcement Detail
The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of River Road in Upper Makefield Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 15 trucks were stopped and inspected. No trucks were placed out of service and 2 citations and 4 warnings were issued for violations that were found.
March 21
Disturbance
At approximately 4:32 pm police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody and charges are pending.
March 23
DUI
At approximately 10:51 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
March 24
Arrest
At approximately 2:43 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford van operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Buck Road and Mill Pond Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics were discovered and seized as evidence, and the male driver was arrested.
