Police Log: Retail Theft, Protection From Abuse Order Violation & More

June 28

DUI

At approximately 12:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Pilot operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Design for Vision on West Road around 12:45 p.m. for the report of an attempted retail theft not in progress. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

June 29

Disorderly Conduct

At approximately 11 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on an operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, a small amount of suspected marijuana was discovered and seized as evidence, and the operator was cited for disorderly conduct.

June 30

Protection From Abuse Order

Police were contacted at 3:30 p.m. about a violation of a Protection From Abuse court order in Newtown Township. As a result of the investigation, charges were filed for the violation.

July 1

Theft From Vehicle

Police were contacted at 12:30 p.m. about a possible theft from a vehicle that occurred in the parking lot along West Road the day before. The reporting party explained that her purse went missing, and she believed it was taken from her car.
