August 30

Fraud

At approximately 4:45 p.m., a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report a fraud involving counterfeit checks. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

August 31

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Lululemon around 3 p.m. for the report of a retail theft in progress. As a result of the investigation, three juveniles and one adult were taken into custody and a vehicle stolen out of Newtown Square was recovered.  

September 1

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Ulta around 12:45 p.m. for the report of a retail theft not in progress. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

September 2

Assault

At approximately 1:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for a reported dispute. As a result of the investigation, one subject was taken into custody and charged with Simple Assault.

Assault

At 8:35 p.m., police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for a reported dispute. As a result of the investigation, one subject was taken into custody and charged with Simple Assault.

September 3

Attempted Extortion

A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 5:30 p.m. to report a scam. The resident explained that she received an email from someone claiming to have explicit videos of her and her online activity. The person was very aggressive, sent a picture of the front of her house to try to intimidate her, and threatened to share the videos unless she paid them in Bitcoin. Fortunately, the resident recognized the email as a scam and did not suffer a monetary loss.

Arrest

Around 10:45 p.m. police were dispatched to the SEPTA bus stop at Bucks County Community College for the report of a disorderly subject. As a result of the investigation, the subject was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant from Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. The subject was also charged as a Fugitive of Justice and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

September 4

DUI

At approximately 4 a.m., police were dispatched to Ferino Brothers Auto Sales & Services for the report of a single-vehicle traffic accident into the bay day. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

Burglary

Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 5:15 p.m. for the report of a burglary. As a result of the investigation, two subjects were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespassing – Breaking Into Structure.

Burglary

Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence shortly before 7:30 p.m. for the report of a burglary. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

September 8

Retail Theft

At approximately 4 p.m., police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty for the report of a retail theft, not in progress. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

DUI

At approximately 8:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Wrangler operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of East Washington Avenue. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.

September 9

Assault

Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 7:45 p.m. for the report of a dispute. As a result of the investigation, one subject was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possessing an Instrument of Crime, and Disorderly Conduct.

September 11

Fraud

Police were dispatched to C&N Bank around 12:15 p.m. for the report of a flim-flam scam. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Arrest

At approximately 11:45 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Cobalt operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Stoopville Road and Millstone Road. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Ewing Township Police Department (NJ) and transferred without incident.
