Ahead of U.S. Sen. JD Vance’s campaign stop in Newtown Township, law enforcement was warning of expected traffic disruptions across Lower Bucks County.
Pennsylvania State Police warned that traffic disruptions could take place on Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. on I-295.
“State police are advising the public to anticipate traffic delays and intermittent road closures throughout the day,” Trooper Nathan Branosky said in a statement. “It is anticipated these traffic disruptions will cause other roads throughout the region to also be impacted.”
Vance, who is former President Donald Trump’s running mate, will speak at 5:15 p.m. at the Newtown Athletic Club, which sits off the Newtown Bypass.
Newtown Township police said temporary road closures will be in place on Penns Trail between the Newtown Bypass and Friends Lane and Pheasant Run between Penns Trail and Terry Drive.
Police said access to businesses in that area will be allowed.
Vance will travel in a U.S. Secret Service motorcade, which will be escorted by local police, to the Newtown Township venue.
As of Friday evening, the Trump campaign was still giving away tickets to the event.
