The Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors approved an application last month for a state grant to replace a deteriorating culvert.

The township’s engineering firm, CKS, will be applying for a $108,781 grant on behalf of the township from the Local Share Account, which is managed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The grant would fund the replacement of an aged corrugated metal culvert that has been in use for over 30 years on Thompson Mill Road, officials said.

According to township officials, the existing structure is in need of replacement.

The grant, if awarded, would cover the entire cost of the project, with the township not required to contribute any additional funds.

Officials noted that necessary state approvals are being sought for the project to begin if the grant is obtained.
