Wrightstown Township will be raising taxes for 2025.

The Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors voted earlier this month to increase the tax rate from 12 mills to 13.5 mills, which will help bring in new funding for the $4,140,560 budget.

When the budget was introduced in late October, Interim Township Manager Gregg Schuster spoke of a $260,000 general fund deficit that needed to be examined.

Tax revenue is expected to stay steady in 2025, leading to the need for additional funding, Schuster said.

The supervisors considered options, including not raising taxes, implementing a smaller increase, and opting for a larger increase. They settled on the smaller increase to fill the budget hole.

Wrightstown Township Supervisor Chairperson Chester Pogonowski said when the municipality was advertising the budget that the spending plan was “reasonable” and held the line on spending.

The township is expected to start 2025 with $600,482 in the bank.
