Wrightstown Township has appointed Stacy Crandell as its new municipal manager.
The hiring followed a unanimous vote by the Board of Supervisors earlier this month. A start date of Dec. 23 was approved.
Crandell, who recently held the managerial position in Souderton Borough before stepping down earlier this year, will receive an annual salary of $120,000. Her compensation package also includes benefits, fees for professional associations, and vehicle reimbursement.
The job became available after the former manager, Stacey Mulholland, resigned in July to take a managerial role in Plumstead Township, her hometown. Mulholland had been with Wrightstown since July 2022.
Following Mulholland’s departure in early August, Gregg Schuster, former manager of Warminster Township, has served as the interim manager.
Crandell is a resident of Chalfont Borough and has previously served as the assistant manager in Montgomery Township, Worcester Township, and Doylestown Township.
Schuster thanked the Wrightstown Township officials and residents for welcoming him. He said the municipality is being left in good hands with Crandell.
In other business, the supervisors addressed changes to retirement plans for two former police officers.
The board voted to transition from township police pension plan to annuities through Northwestern Mutual.
The supervisors voted to purchase annuities valued at $12,596 and $42,347, officials said.
Township Solicitor Vicki Kushto stated that Wrightstown Township would remain responsible should any issues with the annuities arise.
Wrightstown Township has been without its own police department since 1988. It was disbanded at the time due to rising costs and staffing demands.
After a policing agreement with Buckingham Township ended in 2002, Newtown Township has been contracted to provide police services since 2003.
According to the 2025 budget, Wrightstown Township will pay $979,970 to Newtown Township for police services.
