A Newtown Township man was locked up by police following an investigation into the robbery of a Wawa and an attempted burglary of a gun shop.

Christiano D’Antuono, 19, was arrested Thursday evening by Warrington Township and Hatboro Borough, Montgomery County police and faces charges stemming from two incidents in both jurisdictions.

On June 30, at 4:18 a.m., an individual wearing a mask reportedly tried to break into the Continental Armory on South York Road in Hatboro Borough, police said.

Less than half an hour later at 4:41 a.m., the same person allegedly used a firearm to rob the Wawa on Route 611 in Warrington Township, police said.

Investigators from the Warrington and Hatboro police departments collaborated to pinpoint D’Antuono as the prime suspect.

Both police departments extended their thanks to the Bucks County Detectives and the Newtown Township Police Department for their support in the case.

D’Antuono was charged with three counts each of terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, robbery, and simple assault. He also faces single counts of attempted burglary, attempted criminal trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a weapon, and loitering and prowling at nighttime. Following his arrest, he was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Daniel Finello, who set his bail at $100,000 cash. He was detained at the Bucks County Correction Facility.
